Dr Lau Hung Tuan – MBBS (London), MRCS (Edinburgh), MMed (ORL), FAMS (ORL)
Dr Lau Hung Tuan is an accredited, international fellowship-trained Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist in
Singapore. Dr Lau is experienced in treating a wide array of ENT conditions, such as sinus infection, nasal
allergy, ear and hearing problems, as well as swellings in the head and neck region. Besides these common ENT
conditions, Dr Lau has special interest in the sub-specialty field of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).
He is highly passionate about treating these conditions with holistic, tailored and individualised solutions for
his patients.
Dr Lau graduated from University College London (United Kingdom) and received his MBBS degree with Distinction in
Medical Sciences and special commendation for overall performance. He went on to qualify as a Member of the Royal
College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was also conferred a Masters of Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology) from the
National University of Singapore.
Dr Lau completed his postgraduate specialist training through the NHG-AHPL Otorhinolaryngology Residency Program.
During his residency training, he was awarded the NHG Residency Award for Outstanding Resident. He further
completed a clinical fellowship in Craniofacial Sleep Surgery at the Craniofacial Center of Chang Gung Memorial
Hospital in Taiwan where he was trained and mentored by world-renowned plastic surgeons in the field of
craniofacial reconstructive surgery.
Prior to commencing private practice, Dr Lau served as a Consultant in the Department of Otolaryngology (ENT),
Head and Neck Surgery of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), where he was the clinical lead for the Snoring and OSA
surgery sub-specialty service. Dr Lau continues to run a Complex Sleep Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a
visiting specialist.
During his KTPH tenure, his hospital appointments include being in the Medical Care Quality Improvement
Committee, Tissue Audit Committee and Trauma Committee.
On the academic front, Dr Lau is active in contributing to the ENT and medical community at large as
both teaching faculty and presenter in various local and international conferences. He was the ENT
Clinical Block Lead (KTPH) and clinical teacher for Nanyang Technological University Lee Kong Chian
School of Medicine. He was also a clinical tutor for the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin
School of Medicine.
